Desperation of corrupt media on Anti Modi agenda…
The Indian media had never seen more vibrant phase. The lines are drawn, the arrows are sharpened, the venom is unleashed and the clash is based on enormous intelligent selection of situation. This was due for a long time and now almost everyone is chipping in with a cheeky tweet or a jibe or a meme shared.
What has got the volatile situation into trigger mode, is a series of events. Let us see the most talked event first.
About 700 chats between Arnab Goswami and Parto Dasgupta, then chairman of BARC were leaked. The whole lutyens lobby in Delhi is talking about it. There are tweets, there jibes and there are all kinds of narratives around the media world. However there are some questions about this leaked chat. It is imperative we look at these questions objectively and understand the hidden agenda.
- The length of the chat:
If someone decided to release this chat, which part would you release? In all leaks, in all important hacks, there is a central theme. Like leaks with Rahul Gandhi talking to American official in foreign ministry, the central theme was Rahul Gandhi calling so called Hindu Terror a bigger threat to India than Lashkar from Pakistan. We have about 500 pages leaked without any central theme to it. No core allegation, no core accusation. This is extremely critical.
When leaks happen without a core to it, it is most likely to be a diversion tactic.
What is this diversion about, we will come to that slightly later. Let us first deal with the lutyens narratives first. - Some people are talking about official secret act. They say Arnab Goswami leaked secret information and is liable for prosecution and punishment. This is an official statement of such people declaring their intellectual bankruptcy.
Official secrets act is for the people holding a position as per the constitution. Arnab does not hold a single constitutional position. But let us not go with the technical argument. Let us see the moral reason and logic about the very act here.
When you are elected or placed as a minister or secretary of defense, then at that position, day in day out you will see documents which are never known to others. These are national sensitive documents and should never be spoken about. You can not leak it or mention it ever. Note that a journalist wrote his biography in which he mentioned how Indira Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi had raised Bhindranwale. But the ministers in that government knew everything but could not write anything. Why? Because of official secret act. Point to note, the official secret act would not apply to Arnab Goswami. - Some people mention about morality and how Arnab has breached that. This is absolutely hypocrisy. When Pathankot was attacked, there were IEDs found on railway track. There was a potential threat of bigger attack. The government, the agencies were on high alert.
In this situation, no channel is allowed to do live reporting. This is an official act passed by government of India in 2009 after 26/11 attack. The intention is, our cameras should not help the terror handlers and terrorists to safely carry out the attack and damage India.
But in Pathankot, NDTV was carrying out the live reporting. Only a fool would believe that NDTV did not know about the act. The live reporting on the part of NDTV was their attempt to help the terror handlers to create bigger impact. This was obvious ploy to target Modi. This lutyens lobby still claims that NDTV did not do anything wrong by live reporting the status of terror struck locations. Now they talk about Arnab Goswami is very interesting. - This is desperate attempt by a lobby to find something with which they can build a narrative. Why do they desperately need a narrative right now? Because the other man involved in these chats, former chairman of BARC, Partho Dasgupta was in arrest.
In the arrest, he was horribly tortured, alleged by his family. And he was rushed to a hospital in Mumbai at about noon on 16 Jan 2021. In horrible reality, his family was not informed. Because right at that time, High Court was hearing bail petition of the same person. And if his family briefed the court about his horrible health condition, bail was certain. So the authorities in Mumbai informed the family 15 hours later. At the hospital, the family found the man in bed filled with blood. His condition is really bad. The man’s daughter wrote an open letter to PM of India asking for help. She mentions in that letter that her father is on his death bed. She also writes that Mumbai police have paid a man in the jail to torture her father till he does not name Arnab Goswami in a scam. - So in this event, the ruling party in Maharashtra is found in very compromised situation. Also in the same week, son in law of a sitting cabinet minister in Maharashtra is arrested by NCB in drug case. And a sitting minister is accused of rape by a woman, the minister claims to be his second wife which is banned legally under Hindu Marriage Act.
So clearly the ruling coalition in Maharashtra is in absolute disarray. So they are looking for a desperate diversion of public attention. And for that these chats are leaked. Many are trying to see this in relevance to TRP scam allegations. Let use decode the whole TRP scam now. - TRP basically means television rating of programs. The relevance of TRP is about getting advertisements. The channel and the program with greater TRP is supposedly watched by more people. So the advertisement is reaches more people and can have more sales generated as a result.
Republic channel owned by Arnab was enjoying maximum TRP in that category. Clearly the advertisements were plenty and hence was the revenue.
But what if a news channel manipulates the TRP? Let us see this in detail.
Suppose Arnab had faked its TRP. Then he would get advertisement in large numbers. And the advertisers would expect results in sales. The advertisers are not stupid. They are not here for charity. They are very shrewd. They have a mechanism in place already in their company. So they already know that a particular TRP means what number of audience. And they have estimates of revenue and sales generated in a month after giving advertisement to the given channel. I have a YouTube channel which is subscribed by about 30 people. If I fake it somehow and show on display that 30000 people have subscribed my channel. Then I would get advertisements but then advertisers would not get the audience and revenue. So within maximum of 3 months, I would lose all the advertisers.
But the whole issue with Arnab is that no advertiser is unhappy about his investment. Almost every company has retained its advertisement.
Imagine this, Arnab carried out extensive campaign against the bollywood drug lobby. But the prominent advertisements signed by these film stars are aired on Republic channel.
What does it mean?
It means that the corporate aligned companies to the people in films are giving their advertisement to Republic channel. Clearly they all know that Republic channel and Arnab Goswami is viewed across India.
This sadly exposes the conspiracy of local police and politicians. - This is one last question about this. And we all should ponder over this.
Arnab Goswami’s channel’s reporter reached the farm house of Maharashtra CM. He was following a lead in Sushant Singh Rajput case. And when he was caught, the reporter, his cameraman and even the ola cab driver were charged under sections of terrorism.
If a reporter is following a lead and goes to farm house of the chief minister, why would he be charged under terrorism? This is the real issue. That reporter was arrested by not an inspector of police but by the DIG and IG of police.
Why is there so much of fuss about the chief minister’s farm house? I mean if you are not happy with the reporter not trusting the chief minister and going to investigate at his farm house, give him a stern warning. Why charge him under acts of terrorism?
And if court finds these charges to be absolutely invalid, who would be disgraced?
The witch-hunt against Arnab started after his reporter was caught investigating the chief minister’s farm house following a lead in Sushant Singh Rajput’s murder story. Why is chief minister so scared about his farm house? I do not know.
But this question is the real question.
When a man is hiding something, every action of his is focused on what he is hiding. This is human nature.
The epicenter of Arnab’s trouble is found at chief minister’s farmhouse where Republic channel’s reporter had gone following a lead in Sushant Case.
I have no capacity and information to comment on why is it so.
But this India is relentless. If you do not trust me, check the performance of Indian cricket team in Australia. We are used to sending best teams to Australia and come back with series lost. But today, our Indian team has lost at least its 9 best players owing to injury or family commitments, and are still about to take the trophy home. No matter what comes out of it, it shows that this India shall not give up.
The same shall apply with Arnab and Republic case.
The allegations are aplenty. But none of the accusers have the courage to stand up to the new India.
I have three priorities.
- Partho Dasgupta be shifted to where he gets best medical treatment and comes back absolutely fine in time.
- Every mishap with Partho Dasgupta be interrogated to depth and those who tortured him be traced to the top of the hierarchy.
- Every conspirator is bought to book; no one spared.
This is all I want to come out of this case. Waiting for justice now. May the God take care of the people with honest and good objectives.
